Welcome to Bee Still Studio, a website devoted to the art of devotion.

Prayer is what we are about here.
Perhaps it's not prayer in ways you've ever thought about before or the way you learned to pray as a child. But it is prayer!
That is what art does for us - it startles us into new ways of becoming before God. Art helps our hearts to wake up!

It doesn’t matter whether we approach God with hearts full of sadness or joy or a little bit of both. What matters is that we continue to approach God without fear or hesitation. Sometimes words don’t do it for us, and so I believe images can speak for us with a power much deeper than words. Color, shape, and the wildness of the human imagination are some of the best ways I can think of to draw closer to God.

I hope some of these pictures, especially the whimsical ones, put a smile on your face and remind you that God is ever close at hand, that you are not alone in your struggles, and that you are deeply loved.

There is something new at our site. We will share with you pictures of the other art projects I've done, including some commissions I've received, which for the most part won't ever appear as prints or reproductions.
